Instrument & Nature Exploration Camps: Conservatory & Urban Ecology Center

Two sessions!
Collaboration with the Urban Ecology Center.

Join us for five 5 full days of instrument investigation and nature exploration! Each morning starts at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music for group instruction on instruments. Each student will rotate (in small groups) at the Conservatory learning guitar, voice, violin, and musicianship through Orff instruments and methodology. At lunch time students will travel from the Conservatory to the Urban Ecology Center. Transportation will be provided by the UEC. After lunch and a good stretch in the sunshine at the Riverside Park, each student will resume instrument sampling with Conservatory faculty on the hand drums. The afternoon continues with programming at Riverside Park and the music found in nature. The Urban Ecology Center staff will help students learn how composers portray the natural world in their music, play nature-inspired instruments such as ocean drums and lead discovery hikes. Violins courtesy of Brass Bell.
