Anaba Tea Room is pleased to present “Oil on Tea Bag & Oil on Canvas,” a unique exhibition by Wisconsin artist Sandra Peterson. Join us Saturday, May 5th, 5-7pm for the opening reception to meet this Madison artist. Live music by renowed jazz musician Hanah Jon Taylor.
In this exhibit, Ms. Peterson is interested in a background that interposes with foreground simulating that we, somehow, are all interconnected on many levels and themes in our lives and in our world. She asks if “mark making” is the language of painting in its basic form, how can the most constructive mark come from a place of truthfulness from within? It is this question that directs
her through her painting.
With a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Ms. Peterson’s work was recently displayed at the Wausau Festival of Arts, Wausau, WI (2011, Best of Show Winner) and Kaleidoscope Gallery, Mt. Horeb, WI (2010).
