First-Ever Bobcat Sighting Reported In Milwaukee County: Report
Officials in Milwaukee County say that the public is safe, though not to leave small animals unattended.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Officials in Milwaukee County say that the public is safe, though not to leave small animals unattended after a bobcat was sighted wandering through neighborhoods in Milwaukee's North Shore over last week.
Members of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said the first bobcat sighting happened at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, near Big Bay Park, 5000 N. Lake Drive. Two days later a resident on the 6100 block of North Lake Drive Court, captured several photos of the bobcat in her back yard.
According to police reports, two officers were dispatched that day to the 5000 block of N. Palisades Rd. for an initial report of a big cat running in the park. Officers dispatched on that call were unable to find the big cat on-scene. The second call came in just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 7 after a family reported seeing the bobcat walking through their back yard on the 4600 block of N. Lake Drive.
