Get On The Ballot: Residents Can Now Circulate Nomination Papers
Shorewood's ballot will include two Village Trustee seats and two school board seats. Here's how residents can get on the ballot.

SHOREWOOD, WI β Shorewood residents interested in holding a seat on the Village Board or the school board are now able to lay the groundwork for getting their name on the ballots, according to the Village of Shorewood.
Two Village Board seats and two school board seats will be on the ballot in early 2022. People can now circulate and file nomination papers in order to get a chance to fill those seats. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is Jan. 4.
If a primary is needed, it is slated for February. The main spring election is scheduled for early April.

To make it easier for potential candidates to learn about the process of getting their name on the ballot, the role of an elected official and campaign finance requirements, Shorewood will hold a Local Official Candidacy Gathering on Monday at 5 p.m. at the Village Center lower level meeting room located at 3920 Murray Avenue.

More resources for those intending on running for the school board seats are also available on the Shorewood School District's website.
The district said it will also run an informational meeting for people looking at running for a school board seat. The School Board Candidate information meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Monday in the lower level of the Shorewood Public Library, located at 3920 Murray Avenue.
The district website says the meeting will include an overview of the School Board's roles and responsibilities, details about the candidacy filing process, plus finance and paperwork requirements. Some current members of the board will be present at the meeting to answer questions and reflect on their experiences, according to the district.
