SHOREWOOD, WI β Students at Shorewood High School recently won the state high school mock trial tournament in Madison over the weekend - now they need the public's help to make it to nationals.
A total of 123 teams across the state competed in regional tournaments in February, with the first and second place teams from each of 11 regions advancing to the state competition in Madison over the weekend of March 9-11. After the first two days of competition, the top two teams advanced to the state final, which was held in the state Supreme Court Chambers at the state Capitol on Sun March 11.
Shorewood defeated D.C. Everest, a school near Wausau, winning five out of a possible five ballots in the final round.

After winning the state competition in Madison, Shorewood students now have the opportunity to represent our state at the Mock Trial National Championship in Reno, Nevada in May. They now need the public's help to get them there.
Now you can help send them to Idaho to compete on a national stage. The estimated total cost of the team trip is $13,000, including the costs of travel, accommodations, and registration for the competition. Your donation can make a big difference for these students, and provide them with the experience of a lifetime. Organizers are asking the public to please consider a contribution by April 27 to support this cause and help Shorewood students benefit from unique learning experiences through the National Mock Trial competition.
