It's over...

Time to complete your fall yard cleanup before the snow flies.

Given that I still see Feingold 2004 stickers attached haphazardly to the trunks, bumpers and hatchbacks of Priuses, Forresters and other vehicles favored by the socially conscious on a regular basis, I guess it’s not too surprising that some folks don’t get right on top of removing campaign ephemera after suffering a crushing defeat.

But, seriously, it’s time to pull the Mary Burke signs out of the yard. There’s really no excuse anymore.

You’ve gone out of your way to rake and navigate the rotary push mower around them when you could have made life easier on yourself by just pulling and tossing them. But you wished to demonstrate your solidarity with those who, like you, bravely (if unsuccessfully) attempted to run Walker out of office twice in 4 years. You’re never going to give up hating Scotty. Point taken.

But the snow’s a’coming and pretty soon that thing is going to be frozen out there. And while, at this point it’s still something which could be seen as a defiant middle finger aimed squarely at Walker and those who supported him, in short order it’s going to start looking more like the markings of a dwelling occupied by someone who’s a bit off their rocker or, perhaps, dead and decomposing in their rocker.

So do yourself (and the Shorewood PD) a favor before the snow flies and the freeze sets in. Give old Mary the heave-ho. You know in your heart of hearts she was a lousy choice from the get-go. The sooner you put yet another horrendous miscalculation on the part of Mike Tate behind you, the better you’ll feel.

I’m sure you don’t want to be lumped in with those crazy farmers in the rural Waukesha County who defiantly refuse to take down their hand-painted “Romney” signs - do you?

Nope, didn’t think so.

Take ‘em down.
