Milwaukee Gets its First Surf Shop ... And It's In Shorewood

SHOREWOOD -- There are certain spots along the shore of Lake Michigan that are known to surfers for producing just the right waves.

ON Milwaukee interviewed surfer Jake Bresette, routinely made the drive an hour or more from his home to Sheboygan, Racine and Milwaukee for the big waves.

One of Bresette's favorite places to surf is Shorewood's Atwater Beach, so he and his wife moved to Shorewood and are now opening the area's first surf shop.

According to a report by ONMilwaukee, Lake Effect Surf Shop will open in mid-July at 1926 E. Capitol Dr. in the former Cafe Nation, Smoothie Nation space.
