Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Cellist Performs with High School Students
As, Shorewood orchestra students prepare for benefit concert.
Orchestra students at Shorewood High School had a very special edition to their ensemble Monday morning — Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Cellist Scott Tisdel.
Karen Fink, orchestra director at Shorewood High School, passionately conducted the students and occasionally asked Tisdel to demonstrate his interpretation of the Dvorak concerto. The rehearsal was in preparation for the Shorewood Orchestra benefit concert set for Feb. 24, in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5.
Tisdel’s daughter, Emmy Tisdel, plays violin and is the concert master in the orchestra, this year.

“I’ve played with my father before," Emmy said. "But it’s really cool that it’s my senior year and it’s one of my last experiences playing with my dad and being able to perform such beautiful solos."
This is the fourth year the high school orchestra has held the benefit concert, inviting a guest musician like Tisdale, every year.
