New Restaurant Moving Into Former Shorewood Village Pub Site

Cloud Red said to be drawn from iconic local wildlife scene, homemade specialties

SHOREWOOD - The Shorewood Village Pub had been a fixture in the area since 1963 before its closing in July 2014.

But the building it was housed at, 44878 N. Oakland Ave., won't be vacant for long.

According to a report published by OnMilwaukee.com, Rebecca Goldberger and Lis Duggan - former owners of Roots Restaurant and current manager of The Irish Pub - bought the building in December and are about to transform it into a new venture called Cloud Red.

The two owners told On Milwaukee this week that Cloud Red will serve craft beer, cocktails and seasonal homemade food.

They also said Cloud Red was aptly named after the term used to describe a gathering of red-wing blackbirds - a common area sight.

OnMilwaukee is reporting that Cloud Red is expected to open sometime in May.
