Officer-Involved Shooting in Shorewood, Suspect Rammed Police Cars

Police in Shorewood are searching for a second suspect rammed two squad cars and touched off an officer-involved shooting.

SHOREWOOD, WI — Police in Shorewood are searching for a second suspect rammed two squad cars and touched off an officer-involved shooting.

One suspect was taken into custody. Police are seeking the other occupant of the vehicle. A firearm was recovered from the suspect's vehicle.

On June 21, 2017 at about 5:00 a.m., a Shorewood Community Service Officer reported a suspicious vehicle in the area of E. Pinedale Court and N. Morris Blvd.

Officers responding to the area were informed that the vehicle was reported stolen. Officers conducted a high risk traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle drove at the officers and their vehicles. The suspect vehicle struck two squad cars. According to Shorewood police, an officer on the scene did discharge their duty weapon. There are no reported injuries at this time.

A vehicle pursuit was initiated and the suspect vehicle stopped in the area of North Holton St. and E. Vienna Ave. and the suspects fled on foot.

According to police, the officer who discharged his weapon has 15 years of service and is currently on administrative duty consistent with agency policy pending the investigation.

Per State law, this investigation is being handled by the Milwaukee County Investigative Team which is being led by the Milwaukee Police Department along with Wauwatosa, Greenfield and Oak Creek Police Departments.
