OnMilwaukee Announces Milwaukee's 2016 Cafe of the Year

MILWAUKEE -- There are plenty of cool coffee shops in the Milwaukee area, but when it comes to Milwaukee's destination cafes, ONMilwaukee has just named their top 5. And also their number one cafe for 2016, as voted upon by their loyal readers.

The readers of ONMilwaukee have named four runners-up. They are (in no particular order)

• Cafe at The Pfister
• The National
• Cafe at the Plaza
• Simple Cafe

But the highest cafe love goes to a Near North Side fixture, Comet Cafe.

What's so great about Comet?

ONMilwaukee says that:

Comet Cafe is a cozy diner and bar that serves up made-from-scratch comfort food like meatloaf, "cheesy-gooey sandwiches" and breakfast until 3 p.m. every day. The menu items are made with seasonal, mostly local products, with a nice mix of meaty and veggie dishes.

Best of all? Every Sunday night is Bacon Night – as in free baskets of bacon. Just take a minute to let the splendor of those words sink in.
