Police Advisory: Remove Your Keys, Lock Your Car

SHOREWOOD, WI -- A Shorewood Police advisory posted this afternoon warns citizens to remove their keys from their cars, and to lock them. The advisory came after over three cars were stolen in town on Sunday and Monday alone.

The string of car theft follows an increase in vehicle break-in activity last year, in which Shorewood saw eight vehicle break-ins in 12 hours..

One of the vehicles was recovered by police, according to the advisory. "Residents are asked to remove spare keys and anything of value from vehicles and make sure they are secured," the advisory says.
