Police Arrest Four Teen Car Theft Suspects; Arrest Homicide Suspect After Car Chase

An alert neighbor helped Milwaukee police arrest four teens. A homicide suspect's car came to rest against a house after a car chase.

MILWAUKEE -- With the help of an alert neighbor, Milwaukee police arrested four teens who were trying to break into a car on the East Side early Tuesday.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of E. Kane Place around 12:55 a.m. on September 6 to investigate an entry to autos complaint.

The caller said she saw four teens trying to break into a 2015 Lincoln MKS. When officers arrived, the four suspects fled on foot but were quickly arrested.

The arrested teens are a 12-year-old male, two 14-year-old males, and a 16-year-old male. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges in the coming days.

Around 12:15 am on September 5th, Milwaukee Police offficers on patrol observed a 2002 Chevy Avalanche wanted in regards to a homicide that occurred on August 30th.

The vehicle fled from officers who pursued it for two minutes until it struck a 1997 Lincoln that was traveling eastbound on W. Capitol Drive at N. 15th Street.

The Avalanche then came to rest against a home on the corner. The driver of the Avalanche, (believed to be the suspect in the homicide) a male in his 20’s, fled the scene but was located hiding in a nearby yard.

He was treated for minor injuries and is currently in custody. A 23-year-old female passenger in the Avalanche was taken into custody at the scene. She was also treated for minor injuries. The lone occupant of the Lincoln, a 47-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury. Milwaukee police investigation into this incident is ongoing.
