Reckless Driver Arrested In Shorewood: Report

SHOREWOOD, WI — Police in Shorewood say the driver of a reckless vehicle was arrested Thursday night after he lost control and crashed on E. Capitol Drive.

At about 10 p.m. Thursday, Shorewood police officers in two separate squads saw a car speeding east on Capitol Drive from N. Wilson Drive.

Police said the driver of that vehicle drove through a red light at high speeds, and continued to drive recklessly east on Capitol Dr.

Police said the driver of that vehicle lost control, and crashed in the 2100 block of E. Capitol Drive. Police said the driver was arrested and was the only person in the vehicle. No injuries were reported; and police said it appeared that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

According to Shorewood police, the vehicle was not being pursued at the time of the crash. Authorities are forwarding charging recommendations to the Milwaukee County District Attorney.
