Shorewood Contending with Rash of Home Burglaries

Shorewood's most recent burglary happened Dec. 28-29, and police are asking residents to report suspicious activity.

SHOREWOOD, WI — Shorewood police are investigating a rash of burglaries in the village this December - the most recent one coming late this week.

The Shorewood Police Department is investigating a residential burglary in the 4300 Block of N. Lake Dr. An unknown actor(s) made entry to the residence through the rear door of the attached garage at that location. The burglary occurred sometime between 10:00 am on December 28, 2016, and 9:00 pm on December 29, 2016. Money and jewelry were taken from the residence.

  • Officers responded to a reported garage entry in the 4400 Block on N Marlborough Dr. An unknown actor(s) made entry to the garage but no items were taken.
  • The Shorewood Police Department is also investigating a residential burglary in the 4500 Block of N. Woodburn St. An unknown actor(s) made entry to both the residence and detached garage at that location.
  • A burglary occurred to an unoccupied home on the 4200 block of Larkin St. on Tuesday, 12/20 between 12:45pm and 12:53pm. Entry was made by forcing a rear door open. A neighboring home was burglarized on Dec. 16 sometime between 7:35am and 5:45pm. Entry was made to this home in the same manner.

Police officials are asking that you check on your neighbor's homes if they are on vacation.
The Shorewood Police Department has increased patrols in the area and will continue to maintain an increased presence in the area. Please call the police and report anything you observe that may be suspicious, especially vehicles.
