Shorewood 'Corner' Could be Getting a Corner Bakery Cafe
Developer plans numerous property upgrades, renovations for site that had long housed Bakers Square along Capitol Drive

SHOREWOOD - Village officials are set to review plans for a new restaurant in Shorewood - a Corner Bakery Cafe - that developers want to put on the site of the old Bakers Square on Capitol Drive.
The nearest Corner Bakery Cafe is in Wauwatosa on Burleigh. Here is how they describe their menu:
"Whether you join us for breakfast, lunch or dinner, stay here, take it with you or cater for a crowd, all your favorites are here at the Corner. Our hot, made-to-order scramblers, delicious sandwiches, homemade soups, hand-tossed salads, and decadent desserts are made with the freshest ingredients just the way you like it."

The drive-through is for a new restaurant Corner Bakery Cafe and the project includes other improvements to the site:
- 300 SQFT rear addition
- Front patio
- Bicycle parking and bike maintenance station
- Added connection path to Culverβs at rear parking lot
- New parking lot light fixtures
- Garbage enclosure at rear of lot
- New parking lot landscape bed
- Designated public parking for Ghost Train
According to a report by the Milwaukee Business Journal, Wisconsin's first Corner Bakery Cafe opened in 2014 at the Mayfair Collection development in Wauwatosa and another location is in the works at a planned retail and restaurant development in Pleasant Prairie.

The Dallas-based fast-casual restaurant chain previously said in 2013 that it planned to open 10 locations in Milwaukee and Madison over five years. There are now 194 Corner Cafe locations in the U.S., the Business Journal also reported.
