Shorewood K9 Officer Aids in Arrest of Stolen Vehicle Suspect
The suspect reportedly fled from officers in a stolen car, before crashing the car into a tree and fleeing on foot.

SHOREWOOD -- A Shorewood Police K9 officer aided in the arrest of a Milwaukee man after the man reportedly fled from officers in a stolen car, before crashing the car into a tree and fleeing on foot.
On Sunday, October 2, 2016, at about 2:40a.m. a Shorewood Police officer observed two vehicles circling the area of E. Capitol Drive. and N. Ridgefield Circle.
According to police, the vehicles were operating without their head lamps on when the officer attempted to make a traffic stop. Both vehicles fled from the officer when he activated his emergency lights and siren.

Police reported that the vehicles went in opposite directions and the officer was only able to follow one of the vehicles. The fleeing vehicle crashed in the 3700 block of N. Murray Ave; the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot from the officer after it crashed into a tree.
The vehicle that crashed was reported stolen through City of Milwaukee. A K9 search of the area resulted in the arrest of one adult male, who was operating the stolen vehicle. Criminal charges were referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
