SHOREWOOD, WI β€” Pramana Saldin, Nick Bucciarelli, Riju Dey and Adit Gupta of Shorewood Intermediate School received the first place prize of $500 for their video on climate change. The seventh-grade students submitted their video to the β€œWorld of 7 Billion” international student video contest sponsored by Population Connection.

Their video, We Only Have One Planet, illustrates the correlation between increased population and high carbon dioxide levels. They suggest the use of alternative energy sources (i.e. wind and solar power) to combat population’s impact on the environment. Judges enjoyed the video and found the messaging to be β€œsharp and crystal clear!”
