Shorewood Officer Hurt While Chasing Burglary Suspects: Report

SHOREWOOD, WI — Police in Shorewood say an officer was injured chasing children in an apparent break-in case early Tuesday morning.

According to Shorewood police, offers were dispatched for an alarm sounding at the Amstar gas station on the 1300 block of E. Capitol Drive at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 3.

Officers reported arriving at the gas station and seeing three children running in the alley away from the building. Police saw that a window was broken at the gas station.

Police said they attempted to stop the three children who were running away, and that officers caught up to one of them. Police said the two other children were not located.

Police said one of the officers who chased the children was injured and treated for minor injuries. He's been released from the hospital and is recovering.
