Shorewood Police Investigate Shots Fired Call, 3 Suspects

Shorewood police are investigating a report of gunshots in the area of Maryland and Newton after eyewitnesses reported hearing the gunshots

SHOREWOOD, WI — Shorewood police are investigating a report of gunshots in the area of Maryland and Newton after eyewitnesses reported hearing the gunshots and seeing a fleeing vehicle.

On August 24, 2017, at 7:34 pm, Shorewood Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Maryland Ave and Newton Ave. after residents in the area reported hearing three gunshots.

According to police, eyewitnesses reported seeing a dark colored Jeep brand SUV with a red colored license plate holder fleeing southbound on Maryland at a high rate of speed after hearing the sound of the gunshots.

Residents also reported seeing three juvenile males fleeing the area on bicycles after hearing the gunshots. The juveniles seen in the area were all riding large frame bicycles equipped with small tires.

A black male between 13-16 years of age, 5’5” to 5’6” tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve black t-shirt and dark colored jeans, and was reported to have a dark colored, “high top fade” style haircut.

A black male between 13-16 years of age, 5’5” to 5’6” tall with a thin build.

A white male between 13-16 y ears of age, 5”5” to 5’6” tall with a thin build who was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and baggy shorts of an unknown color. Police also said he reportedly had short, brown-colored hair.

Officers checked the area for the juveniles and the fleeing vehicle. There were no signs of injuries on scene and at this time the case remains under investigation.
