Shorewood Verizon Store Closes after Almost Five Years

Verizon store owner says he appreciates all the community support but it's time to pursue other ventures.

Dan Rosenbaum, owner of the Verizon store in Shorewood, he closed the doors for good on his shop on North Oakland Avenue.

The store had been open for almost five years in the village, including as a Sprint store.

"My family and I appreciate all the community support from the customers that have shopped locally and kept us in business for almost five years," he said in his .

Rosenbaum said he will be pursuing other ventures, and the building at 4144 N. Oakland Ave. is now open for leasing.

Rosenbaum's business gained attention from the village when officials asked Rosenbaum to remove the advertisements from the side of his building because they violated code. He appealed the decision but eventually gave in and replaced the advertisements with red and black posters , still arguing that the change would hurt his business.
