Suspect Broke Into Shorewood Home, 2 Vehicles Stolen: Report
A homeowner told police that a suspect broke into the home by removing a screen on the kitchen window.

SHOREWOOD, WI — Police in Shorewood say a suspect accused of a home burglary and vehicle thefts is on the run after one of the stolen vehicles was found crashed, and abandoned in Milwaukee.
According to Shorewood police, officers responded to a report of a burglary call on the 4400 block of N. Prospect Ave. at just after 8 p.m. on Aug. 3.
Police said they spoke with a homeowner, who stated that a suspect broke into the home by removing a screen on the kitchen window, and taking two purses and keys to a 2016 black Honda CRV, and a 2012 silver Honda CRV.

Police say both vehicles were then stolen using the keys that were taken from the house.
Police say the 2012 Honda CRV was recovered on Aug. 4 in the area of 27th St. and Burleigh St. in Milwaukee after it was involved in a crash at that location.

Shorewood police say the driver of the stolen vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.
There are no suspects in this case at this time.
