The situation with Syria is not only the Issue du Jour --- but a situation for which any action, or in-action, is going to have repercussions for decades to come. Not only in the Middle East, but throughout the world.
What we do or don't, will affect international dealings and conflict resolution among nations and regions, perhaps in ways which we cannot envision now.
