Vehicle Thefts Continue To Vex North Shore Communities
Police are reporting that 9 vehicles were stolen in Whitefish Bay already this year in which the keys were left in the ignition.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A week after a vehicle was stolen in Shorewood after its owner left the vehicle unlocked and running in their driveway, there were two more thefts in Whitefish Bay.
On March 2 at about 7:25 a.m. the Shorewood Police Department responded to the 1500 Block E. Marion St. for a theft of a motor vehicle left unattended and running in the driveway. Police say the vehicle was recovered the vehicle within 20 minutes of the theft when they found it abandoned in the City of Milwaukee.
Whitefish Bay police had two vehicles stolen on the morning of March 8. According to police, they were left running with the keys in the vehicle. The thefts occurred within a matter of seconds. One of the stolen vehicles today was involved in a traffic crash due to reckless driving on behalf of the operator that totaled the vehicle. This crash was not a result of a pursuit by the police.

Police are reporting that Thursday's thefts made for the ninth vehicle stolen in 2018 from Whitefish Bay that was running with the keys in the ignition.
