A proposal to modify the Villageβs Off-Street Parking Requirements (Article IX of Chapter 535) for new developments failed to receive a majority vote at the September 8 Village Board meeting. Most of the discussion focused on the desired ratio of off-street parking that should be required for new multi-family developments and how that requirement may impact both the development and the built environment.Β Full details regarding the proposal can be found on pages 103-125 of theΒ Village Board Packet.Β The Plan Commission had voted in favor of the change by a vote of 5-2 at theirΒ July 27, 2021 meeting. At the end of the Village Board meeting, Trustees requested that the proposal be brought back for further discussion at a future Committee of the Whole meeting, following adoption of the Villageβs budget this fall.
