On November 15, the Village Board adoptedΒ Ordinance 3034 Amending Off Street Parking Requirements within the Villageβs Zoning Chapter.Β These requirements are now applicable to new buildings, substantially enlarged buildings and use changes. The amendment notably consolidated use categories and modified required parking ratios. Dwelling and lodging uses, including hotels, single-family, duplex and multi-family buildings, will all now require the same one parking stall per unit standard.Β Thresholds for uses within the business district under 2,500 sq. ft. were established to exempt the Villageβs small-scale tenants from being required to provide off-street parking. These amendments were discussed within the parameters of equity, affordability, and sustainability, while acknowledging the presence and availability of on-street parking and transportation alternatives.Β Full details of the amendment may be found within the November 15, 2021 Village BoardΒ meeting packet.
