Wisconsin Connections Academy Invites Students and Families to Share Their Stories of Compassion through Social Media Campaign

WHAT: Wisconsin Connections Academy (WCA), the state’s leading K-12 virtual public school, encourages students throughout the state to stand up to bullying by sharing stories and photos through their campaign “Choose Compassion and Stop Bullying.”

· According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1 in 3 children say they have been bullied. Throughout the month of October, WCA is encouraging students to share their compassionate choices that stand up to bullying. For more information on National Bullying Prevention Month and ways to help, visit www.stopbullying.gov.

· This October, WCA has also put out the blog “10 Bullying Warning Signs Every Parent Should Be Aware Of” as a resource for parents on how they can talk to their children about bullying.

· Encourage your audience to post their story to the WCA campaign to shine a light on bullying in all its forms.
