Lovers Festival

Fifth annual festivalΒ to feature brewsΒ from more than 40 Wisconsin craftΒ breweries paired with local cuisine

Tickets are now on sale for the fifth annualΒ Wisconsin Beer LoversΒ Festival, to be held onΒ Saturday, JuneΒ 14, 2014 (Father’s DayΒ weekend) from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. atΒ Bayshore Town Center.

Hosted by Welcome to Glendale, the City ofΒ Glendale’s Convention and Visitors Bureau,Β Bayshore Town Center, theΒ Wisconsin Brewer’s Guild and DRAFT Magazine, the Wisconsin Beer Lovers FestivalΒ is the premierΒ all-Wisconsin craft beer and tasting festival, featuringΒ more than 150 craftΒ beer selections from more than 40 craft breweriesΒ throughout the state. Each ofΒ the participating breweries will be pairedΒ with local chefs, Wisconsin cheese manufacturers, or one of severalΒ brewpubsΒ and restaurants to create a unique tasting portion designed to complementΒ aΒ variety of unique beers available for sampling.Β

β€œWe are excited to represent Glendale amongΒ theΒ breweries again this year for the festival,” said Jeff Hamilton,Β president of Sprecher Brewery in Glendale and member of the Wisconsin Brewer’sΒ Guild.Β β€œThe festival is one-of-a-kind, allowing visitors to sample Wisconsin’sΒ bestΒ beers and food and meet the brew masters and chefs behind the creations.Β WeΒ anticipate the festival will draw an even bigger turnout of beer and foodΒ loversΒ to Glendale this year.”

NewΒ to the festival this year, KyleΒ Cherek ofΒ WisconsinΒ FoodieΒ will host seminars for patronsΒ to learn more about beer and foodΒ pairings. Festivalgoers can alsoΒ download the new 2014 Wisconsin Beer LoversΒ Festival application developedΒ for smartphones and tablets that will allowΒ patrons to access a map of theΒ festival, as well as brewery and restaurantΒ locations during the event.

Festivalgoers and die-hard craft beer fansΒ will alsoΒ be able to purchase the β€œWisconsin Beer Experience VIP Ticket” for the firstΒ time this year. This VIP ticket is available for $80 andΒ will include access to a special VIP tent by the Wisconsin Brewer’s Guild thatΒ will feature at leastΒ ten beers not available to the rest of attendees, aΒ limited edition WisconsinΒ Beer Lovers Festival growler, a one-yearΒ subscription toΒ DRAFT Magazine,Β early entry to the festivalΒ beginning at noon and a full meal voucher for foodΒ provided by a local restaurantΒ in the VIP tent. Only 300 VIP tickets areΒ available.

GeneralΒ tickets are $45 in advance andΒ $50 at the door, and include admission, aΒ souvenir beer sampling glass andΒ unlimited samples of beer and food pairings. Festival tickets and hotel packagesΒ are available atΒ www.WisconsinBeerLoversFest.com.Β Patrons mustΒ be 21 years of age or older to attend the event. PhotoΒ identification will beΒ required at the admission entrance. DesignatedΒ drivers and patrons under 21Β years of age can purchase a β€œFood Lovers andΒ Designated Driver Ticket” for $25.Β 

ForΒ overnight guests staying in GlendaleΒ during the festival weekend, the Days Inn,Β Hilton Milwaukee River andΒ Radisson Milwaukee North Shore are offering specialΒ packages featuringΒ discounted stays, festival tickets, event shuttles and more.

This year’s festival will also featureΒ entertainmentΒ from the Brewhaus Polka Kings. The Wisconsin Brewer’s GuildΒ will also beΒ creating a β€œmountain of beer” assembled from eachΒ participating brewery to beΒ raffled off to one winning patron of theΒ 
festival. All raffle proceeds willΒ benefit the Wisconsin Brewer’s Guild.
