• Sun Prairie's first responders honor those lost on 9/11 (gazettextra.com) — Sun Prairie residents, city staff, and alders gathered at Fire Station #1 to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, honoring fallen citizens and first responders. Fire Lieutenant Tom Stoltenburg and Police Chief Kevin Warych urged neighbors to carry forward the unity, kindness, and love shown after the attacks, followed by a solemn moment of silence.
   

• Sun Prairie East teacher receives national award (wmtv15news.com) — A Sun Prairie East High School business teacher, Joel Coyne, has been named one of just 43 educators nationwide to receive the NEA Foundation's 2027 Travelers Awards for Teaching Excellence. He's also Wisconsin's 2026 nominee for National Teacher of the Year, recognized for classroom excellence, leadership, and community engagement, with honorees to be celebrated in Washington, D.C. next February.
   

• 2026 National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame Class Revealed (performanceracing.com) — Sun Prairie's Angell Park Speedway, home of the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame, hosted the announcement of the Hall's 2026 induction class. Five notable figures in midget racing, including Darren Hagen and Brad Kuhn, were named, underscoring the national spotlight that this Sun Prairie track continues to hold in the racing community.
