Uptown Art - Sussex Celebrates Seventh Year in Business

Uptown Art – Sussex is celebrating its seventh year in business in April. Uptown Art is an art and paint studio, art gallery, and music, bar, and party venue, located in Sussex, Wis. It is owned by Stacie Estrada, artist.

Stacie Estrada said, “I’ve been a starving artist in and out of the corporate world for the past 25 years. I always found my way back to art. My artwork started as a hobby into my twenties, and evolved into a new style that is now selling in my gallery shows. Outside of my professional art career, I’ve teamed with my husband Joe and daughter Brooke to create custom pet portraits and live wedding portraits.”

Estrada continued, “I connected with Uptown Art nine years ago as an art instructor, and two years later, I bought the business. We’ve been influencing, inspiring, and spreading creativity throughout the community since then. Working with my husband Joe has been awesome. I would not be where I am today without Joe and my parents.”

Uptown Art – Sussex’s venue is presently closed because of Wisconsin’s Stay Safer at Home order, however they have online classes, and artist survival kits are available to families to continue their art exploration. Prior to their closure, Uptown Art had instructional classes, special events, private parties and events. Stacie and Joe are looking forward to reopening in the months ahead.

Joe Estrada said, “My background is interesting – I’ve been a personal chef in Hollywood, a baker, and am growing into an artist and instructor. I’ve been instructing classes for four years now at Uptown Art, and I love working with Stacie and our clients. A splash of the arts in our lives is so important for all. That’s why we decided to reach more of the community through the arts by adding a fine art gallery, and a music and bar venue to our paint studio.”
