Downtown Milwaukee BID Retains Ace of Spray for Graffiti Removal
Menomonee Falls company will respond within 24 hours, use green techniques that protect surfaces while removing graffiti
Menomonee Falls, Wis. – Ace of Spray, southeastern Wisconsin’s leader in professional power washing, has been selected by Milwaukee Business Improvement District #21 to provide graffiti removal services throughout the downtown business and commercial area.
Ace of Spray will employ green techniques to clean graffiti from surfaces, usually within 24 hours of its being reported. Unlike sandblasting or soda blasting - which can damage buildings and leave a mess behind - Ace of Spray partners biodegradable cleaners with high-pressure water to leave surfaces clean and graffiti-free.
If a “tag” is on a painted surface, Ace of Spray will color-match the existing paint and cover it.

“We are thrilled to partner with Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, to help keep its community free of the scourge of graffiti, and welcoming to workers, customers and new businesses,” said Kurt Wahlen, Regional President of Ace of Spray. “Ace of Spray takes great pride in responding quickly to reports of graffiti, which discourages additional ‘taggings,’ and using cleaning practices that remove all markings while protecting buildings and other surfaces.”
Spray paint is the most common raw material in graffiti, Wahlen said, but different markers, stickers and even crayons are sometimes used. Ace of Spray’s custom equipment and cleaners, operated by highly-trained personnel, wipe them all away.

Buildings are not the sole victims of “taggers,” Wahlen added. Mail boxes, sidewalks, fire escapes, garbage containers and other locales are targeted. Ace of Spray will even use an aerial lift to remove graffiti high on walls.
“Graffiti is more than a nuisance – it affects an area’s quality of life,” Wahlen said. “We are proud to help organizations, such as Milwaukee Downtown, that recognize the best response to graffiti is a fast cleanup.”
