Goetz to Represent Sussex in Corporate Park Talks
The Village President is chosen as Sussex's representative on the board needed to make the final decision on the new business park.

Sussex Village President Greg Goetz will represent the village on the review board needed to officially approve .
The Village Board unanimously chose him during a special meeting Tuesday night, but Village Administrator Jeremy Smith says the board almost always consists of the same people. A representative from the , Waukesha County Technical College, Waukesha County, Sussex and a village citizen make up the board.
If the new corporate park and TIF district are approved by Sussex officials, the five-person review board will have the final say before development begins.

βThe review board has to vote in a majority to allow the creation of a TIF,β Smith said. βYou have representatives from all the taxing entities that must allow the creation of the TIF. Itβs like a last check in the process where all the taxing entities agree to allow their taxes to go toward its creation.β
The new review board will have an organizational meeting on July 24 at 4 p.m. At that time, theyβll approve the Sussex citizen who will sit on the board. The group will also attend on July 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the , and if everything moves forward, the board will have their final meeting in late August or early September to make the final vote on the business park.

However, Trustee Pat Tetzlaff reminded Goetz at the board meeting that although the new corporate center is on the fast track, everything should be considered thoroughly.
βWhile we have certain dates to meet and theyβre coming up very quickly, I just want to remind us all, we said we wanted to move cautiously,β Tetzlaff said. βWe have the dates to hit, and weβll do it, but letβs remember the word βcautionβ when we move forward with this.β
