New Concerts in the Park Series this Summer
"Sounds of Sussex" will feature three bands with distinct music styles.
Rock, Blues and Soul.Β These are some of the sounds that will be heard during the new Sussex Concerts in the Park series this summer.
βThese concerts will be a good opportunity for families to sit on the lawn and enjoy some music,β said Amy Jeske, Village of Sussex Director of Recreational Services.
Last year Sussex had just one concert in the park, which had to be rescheduled because of the huge flood.Β This year there will be a series of three concerts at Weyer Park for people of all ages to enjoy.Β

The concerts will be on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 23, July 28, and Aug. 18.Β In case of bad weather, there is a rain date of Aug. 25.
The first concert on June 23 will be the South End Blues Band with their entertaining brand of electric rockining blues covering roots blues artists as well as present day blues, R&B and original blues-rock.

On July 28 the trio Siren will be playing feel good music for the soul. They cover many genres of music including pop, folk, country, blues, rock and jazz.
Step-In-Out will play on Aug. 18.Β They are a motivated, high energy rock band that plays a variety of exciting music spanning six decades, which will entertain all ages.
Hamburgers, brats, candy, chips, water and soda will be available.Β There is no admission fee.Β Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs or a blanket to sit on.
The concerts are sponsored by the Village of Sussex and Heritage Assisted Living.
