New Restaurant Planned for Seigo's Location on Main Street

Village officials provide a few hints, but won't say who's coming to town.

Sussex residents might soon see a replacement for the former on the east side of the village.

Village Administrator Jeremy Smith said plans for a new restaurant at the former Seigo’s location, N64W23180 Main St. will come to the village Plan Commission on June 16.

He declined to specify what restaurant could occupy the space, but he did drop a few hints.

“I’d say it’s of the ilk of a Quaker Steak & Lube type of place,” he said, referring to the chain of family-style, auto-themed restaurants that recently opened in New Berlin.

Smith said the restaurant already has a location in Waukesha County and would provide a very affordable place for parents to take their children.

Trustee Pat Tetzlaff said she has eaten at another location of the potential restaurant and thought it was a nice establishment.

Seigo’s closed earlier this year after the owner filed for bankruptcy. The space has been discussed as a possible new location for Village Hall, however, residents and leaders have expressed a desire to see a new family style restaurant open in the location.
