One Promotion, Two New Staffers At Haass Library

Library director says all three well-versed in expanding uses of library technology.

Library Director Kathy Klager has announced one promotion and two new hires at the Pauline Haass Public Library, N64W23820 Main St.

Five-year library veteran Becky Murray has been promoted to head of Adult Services. Murray was responsible last year for "the highly successful Health and Wellness speaker series" and launched the popular adult summer reading program, Klager said.

"She knows our community, has great relationships with our customers, and has a strong sense of the direction in which she'd like to take the department," Klager said.

Hired full-time as adult services librarian is a Wisconsin native who earned his undergraduate degree from UW-Madison, then worked in the Seattle Public Library system while earning his master's degree in library and information science.
Eric Grob is "not a theory-only guy," said Klager. He is "well-seasoned from his time at Seattle Public," and "brings us a fresh perspective of librarianship."

Hired part-time as youth services librarian is Jannis Mindel, who brings to Sussex 12 years of experience, including nine years in the branches of the Chicago Public Library. Klager said Mindel's work "seeing library service delivered many different ways to many different demographics" will be valuable to the Haass Library.
