's dreams of a state baseball title came to a screeching halt Friday night after playing and losing 2-6. 

The Chargers, seeded fifth, played the fourth-seeded Spartans at 5:30 at . During the first few innings, the two evenly-matched teams were neck-and-neck. However, it wasn't long before the team from Brookfield inched its way forward, securing a spot in the sectionals on Monday.

The Spartans will play the No. 1 seeded Kettle Moraine High School at Waukesha West at 11 a.m. The Lasers are 20-9 overall, while the team from Brookfield is just 15-14.
