Road Construction Wraps Up in Sussex

Dry summer helps workers complete road projects on time this year.

Village Administrator Jeremy Smith said Sussex’s 2011 road projects list is pretty much completed.

“We’re basically at the stage of the game where we’re doing some law restorations and a few inlet adjustments,” he said. “So for the most part, they’re completed.”

The village’s road projects were divided into four different areas in Sussex:

  • Homestead Court, Canyon Meadows Court, Keystone Drive, Keystone Court, and the Good Hope Road and Waukesha Avenue intersection.
  • Lynn Anne Lane, Michele Lane, Lorraine Court, Meadow Lane, Homestead Road, Prairie Court and Prairie Lane.
  • Linda Drive, Salem Drive, Nancy Drive and Candlewick Drive.

The projects were completed on time, Smith said, due to dry weather conditions this summer that allowed crews to work on a consistent basis.

The projects were bid out in January, which saved the village money that will now be used for future road projects.
