On Jan. 13, a woman living in an apartment complex in the W24800 block of Stonegate Court saw Littleton’s 5-year-old daughter in the hallway crying. When she asked what was wrong, the girl told the woman her mom had gone to the store and left her and her 1-year-old brother home alone.

The woman went to Littleton’s apartment and found no one was there, so she contacted the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman told police Littleton had been gone for around an hour and a half and she was also concerned because she had recently been asking other people for pills.

Deputies interviewed Littleton who said she asked a neighbor to look after her kids. The neighbor told officers she had agreed to watch the kids when Littleton first left, but she came back and she then told Littleton she needed to leave.

Littleton will make her initial appearance in court Oct. 8.
