Village Clears Up Electronic Sign Rules
Village officials approve updates to sign rules related to zoning code and downtown rules.

The Sussex Village Board has approved changes to the ordinance related to electric signs.
With the changes, leaders said regulations will be cleared up in order to adjust to businesses' needs.
“I think it’s important we clean up this,” Village President Greg Goetz said.

With the changes, zoning codes were adjusted in order to meet the current code numbering system. The new rules also to allow multi-tenant buildings to have an electronic sign.
Churches also will be able to apply to have an electronic sign and businesses in the downtown area will be allowed to have them as well.

The changes came from recommendations made during a village committee review of the sign ordinances. No members of the public voiced concerns during a recent public hearing on the changes.
