Village Hall Remodeling Progresses
A small new office with public access for the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce, together with a meeting room, are being created from former Sheriff's Department space in the lower level.
Crews from Nic Meyer Construction, N70w25156 Indian Grass Ln., have been working in the western lower level of Village Hall to demolish existing interior walls and build new ones in a renovation project for space that used to house the Sheriff's Department.
The $30,567 project will create a small office with public access to house the Sussex Chamber of Commerce. The remainder will be renovated into a meeting room that can double as a lunchroom for Village Hall staff.
Twelve contractors submitted bids that were rejected. They ranged in price from roughly $32,000 to $46,000, said Village Administrator Jeremy Smith.
