Village Social Media Sites to be up Within Weeks

Facebook and Twitter will be used by staff to inform residents about happenings in the village.

Sussex residents will have a new way to get information as the village will soon begin using social media platforms Facebook and Twitter.

Village Administrator Jeremy Smith said the village will have a Twitter and Facebook account up within the next couple of weeks after the Village Board approved the move last week.

Use of the programs are free, but the village will need to pay about $280 annually to have an outside company store records in order to comply with open records laws.
