We're Hiring!

• The Village of Sussex seeks qualified Preschool Sports Instructors to implement preschool classes in our growing Youth Sports Program. The ideal candidate will implement existing curriculum and provide excellent customer service to both the students and caregivers enrolled in the classes. We are specifically seeking instructors for Preschool Sports Sampler and Preschool Tumbling classes, but are willing to consider other class proposals. Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, while adding in your individual personality, and class instruction and management in conjunction with our Recreation Coordinator. This is a year-round position. with a flexible schedule, including days, nights and weekends. Hours will vary depending on number of classes running, but could average 5-15 per week. Qualifications: Prefer ages 18+ with experience leading/coaching youth sports and activities. Starting wage at $8.00-$12.95 per hour, DOQ.

• Interested in a flexible, part-time job? The Village seeks several Site Supervisors to work a flexible schedule primarily on the weekends. Site supervisors provide onsite support and customer service to renters at the Civic Center. There is no set schedule or minimum number of hours this position must work, but the hope is that each Site Supervisor will work at least one event per month. Shifts are offered as they become available.

Splash Pad is OPEN!

The splash pad at The Grove at Village Park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. or dusk (whichever is earlier), weather permitting, through Labor Day. Exterior bathrooms are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Main Street Block Party: Sunday, August 15

When:  11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where:  Civic Center Plaza

Join us for the best event of the summer! The Main Street Block Party is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Join your neighbors, friends and family in downtown Sussex. The event will feature an expanded farmers/artisan market, food trucks, live music by Mt. Olive, games, and local beer vendors. Community Blood Drive: Wednesday, August 18

When:  12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Where:  Sussex Civic Center

You never know whose life you might save with a visit to one of the Sussex Community Blood Drives. Anyone 17 or older who is in general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes their birth date. Make your appointment online at versiti.org/sussex or call (877) 232-4376.

Community Chat: Armory Park: Thursday, August 19

When:  5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Where: Armory Park

The public is invited to drop in for an informal meeting at Amory Park. This is an opportunity to chat one on one with the Village Board and Village staff to ask questions and provide feedback. There is no formal presentation...just drop in!

Pints in the Park Traveling Beer Garden: Thursday, August 26

When:  5 to 8 p.m.

Where: Sussex Civic Center Plaza

The next Pints in the Park Traveling Beer Garden will be held at the Sussex Civic Center on Thursday, August 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. In addition to craft beer by Brewfinity Brewing Co., Big Daddy-O's BBQ and Mr. P's Grilled Cheese food truck will be there. Outdoor Family Movie Night: Thursday, August 26

When:  Movie starts at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.)

Where:  Sussex Civic Center Plaza

Join us for a fun, family-friendly, outdoor event at the Sussex Civic Center.

Come early to enjoy the Pints in the Park Traveling Beer Garden before the movie!

VFW Community Market

The VFW Community Market takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays, June 13-September 19. (There will be no markets July 4 and 11, August 15 and September 5.) For more information about the market or becoming a vendor, visit https://vfwcommunitymarket.org/.

We Want Your Tree in the Civic Center Plaza!

Be the pride of Sussex this holiday season with your tree in the Civic Center plaza! The tree must be at least 30 feet tall,  look good from all angles, and be easily accessed for removal by the Village. If you can donate a tree, please call (262) 246-5200.

Property Tax Payments

The Village of Sussex accepts property tax payments directly through July 31. As of August 1, all property tax payments must be paid to the Waukesha County Treasurer’s office.
