- Park Maintenance Technician (Part-Time): The Village seeks a hard-working, independent, detail-oriented individual with a great attitude who enjoys serving the public and making a difference in the community. The right candidate will take pride in keeping the park system and Village buildings looking great year-round. The schedule is three days per week from 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Parks employees are also on call every fifth week year-round. Most days, work will be outside, with many projects done in a team environment. The starting pay is $19 per hour. This position is eligible for a merit-based raise annually, as well as paid vacation and sick leave. Learn more and apply at villagesussex.org/hiring.
- Rental Attendants (Part-Time and Flexible Schedule): The Village of Sussex is looking to add a few members to our team of Rental Attendants. Rental Attendants work a flexible schedule, primarily on the weekends, and are able to select which events they would like to work. This position offers an extremely flexible schedule for those looking to make some extra money, but aren't able to commit to a set schedule or specific number of hours weekly. Rental Attendants are tasked with providing on-site support and excellent customer service to renters at the Civic Center and The Grove. Learn more and apply at villagesussex.org/hiring.
Overnight Parking Restrictions NOW in Effect
On-Street parking is not allowed between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. from November 1–March 31. If you or a guest would like to park on the road for longer than 30 minutes between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., you must request permission by calling (262) 246-5237, voicemail option 4. You will need to give your name, car make and model, license plate, phone number, and address where your car is parked. Residents are permitted three parking exceptions per month. Property Taxes
Property Tax bills are mailed by Waukesha County by the third Monday in December, based on information on file at the Register of Deeds office on November 1.
Yard Waste Site Closure
The Yard Waste Site is open Saturdays only in November, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will close for the season at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 20, and reopen on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
Turkey Hunt: Begins November 9

Winter/Spring Activity Guide
The Winter/Spring Activity Guide will arrive in your mailbox later this month and will be viewable online by mid-November. Online registration opens at 9 a.m. December 6. In-Person/Mail-in registration opens December 13. Programs begin January 3.
Gingerbread House Decorating Contest: Entry Deadline November 30
Join the Pauline Haass Public Library for their first ever all-ages Gingerbread House Decorating Contest! There will be four entry categories: Children, Teens, Adults, and Family. Participants can enter as individuals or teams. All entries will be on display in the library for the month of December. Learn more at phponline.org.

The Village of Sussex, Senior Advisory Board and local businesses partner to offer this FREE and fun holiday event to promote holiday cheer. Snacks and beverages will be provided for in-person event. All materials are provided, including volunteers to lend a helping hand with the swag construction. Swags can be done in person or picked up pre-constructed to take home. Indicate your preference when registering. Register with the Civic Center by November 26.
Holiday Tree Lighting: December 3
Join in the fun of the Holiday Tree Lighting from 6 to 8 p.m. This free event includes holiday music, countdown and lighting of the tree, hot chocolate and cookies, and a visit from Santa. If you are able, please bring a non-perishable food item and deposit the items into the designated bins for donation to the Sussex Food Pantry.
The Joy Tree: December 6–16
The Joy Tree sits on the first floor main counter at the Sussex Civic Center, decorated with gift idea tags. Community members are invited to choose as many tags as they wish and return the wrapped gift(s) to the Sussex Civic Center no later than Friday, December 18. The gifts are distributed by Sussex Outreach Services.
