Sussex Fire Auxiliary Brat Fry

Help the Sussex Fire Auxiliary support the Sussex Fire Department and celebrate Fire Prevention Week at the Fire Auxiliary Brat Fry!

When:   Saturday, October 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Where:  Wee Welcome Inn Parking Lot (next to the Fire Department)

Fall Hydrant Flushing 

Fall Hydrant Flushing is scheduled for October 11-15 and 18-22. Flushing removes natural minerals that have settled in the pipes to maintain water clarity and quality in the distribution pipes. It also allows staff to verify the proper operation of hydrants and valves to maintain firefighting capabilities. Flushing may lead to temporary discoloration of your water. If this happens, open the cold water tap nearest your water meter-usually the basement sink or an outside hose bib-until the water runs clear. This usually takes about 10−15 minutes.

Electronics Recycling Dropoff
When:    Saturday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
Where:  Civic Center Parking Lot

Drop off your unwanted electronics for proper recycling/disposal. Visit our website for details.

Community Blood Drive

When:   Tuesday, October 16 from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Where:  The Grove at Village Park

Anyone 17 or older who is in general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes their birth date. Make your appointment online at versiti.org/sussex or call (877) 232-4376.

Spooky Sussex

Spooky Sussex is our not-so-scary, family-friendly, Halloween event at Village Park with activities geared for children aged 10 and younger. Registration is required for everyone at the event except for children 2 and under. Pre-registration is STRONGLY encouraged and will be limited. Pre-registration closes at 5 p.m. Monday, October 18, unless capacity is reached prior to then. We anticipate selling out of pre-registered tickets so please register early.

NEW this year, event access and parking will be off Sunset Drive. Only those needing accessible or volunteer parking should enter Village Park from Main Street/Weaver Drive. Parking Map

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat in the Village of Sussex takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 30.
