The annual crack filling project will begin September 30th or October 1st.  The work will take place in Centennial Oaks and Sussex Estates and is expected to take 2 days to complete.  The roads will remain open throughout the project, but drivers should expect lane closures while the work is taking place and should not drive on the wet material until it is covered with tissue paper.

As part of the project, the contractor will rout the cracks, fill them with crack filling material, and cover them with single ply tissue paper.  After the crack filling material has cured sufficiently to prevent damage, the streets will be swept. 

The work is a necessary part of pavement maintenance and helps to prolong the life of the pavement.  Sealing the cracks keeps water from soaking through the pavement to the gravel which helps prevent potholes, and prevents ice from forming in the cracks over winter which can widen the cracks.
