2018 Waukesha Christmas Parade Lineup, Route Change

WAUKESHA, WI -- Thanks to an ongoing road construction project in Downtown Waukesha, the 2018 Waukesha Christmas Parade will have a new route.

According to a Journal Sentinel report, Main Street was supposed to be done in time for the parade, but the parade had to be rerouted because construction was still ongoing.

According to the report, the contractor, Zignego Co., said that weather wasn't much of problem, but that getting approvals to bore holes under the railroad tracks without compromising the railroad right of way took too much time.

The concrete has been laid on the street and most gutters and curbs, yet sidewalks and the lion's share of electrical work had yet to be done when the season's first snow fell on Nov. 9. Zignego did not have an estimate when the work would be complete.

As for the parade, it will begin on Barstow and Main Street and continue on its normal path, according to the Waukesha Chamber of Commerce.
