8 Free Clinics Honored For Care Of The Needy
The St. Joseph's Medical Clinic in Waukesha and the Community Outreach Health Clinic in Menomonee Falls earned high honors.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI β Eight free and charitable clinics in Wisconsin will receive Standards of Excellence seals from the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics.
The WAFCC Standards of Excellence are designed to promote and describe best practices that maximize access to health care and improve the overall quality of care for the uninsured, underserved, economically and socially disadvantaged, and vulnerable populations, along with defining factors that facilitate organizational competence in free and charitable clinics in Wisconsin.

The eight clinics are: Muslim Community Health Center, Milwaukee (Gold Seal); InHealth Community Clinic, Boscobel (Silver Seal); Community Outreach Clinic, Menomonee Falls, Community Connection Free Clinic, Dodgeville, HealthNet of Rock County, Janesville, Lake Area Free Clinic, Oconomowoc, St. Joseph's Medical Clinic, Waukesha, and St. Ann Center: Bucyrus Campus Medical Clinic, Milwaukee, (all Bronze seals).
The seals will be awarded at a Noon Nov. 3 ceremony at the Safety Net Summit hosted at Froedtert Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.

About the Local Honorees:
The Community Outreach Health Clinic in Menomonee Falls serves the uninsured and underinsured residents of Community Memorial Hospital's service area. The clinic provides quality, limited medical care with dignity and confidentiality, using the services of volunteer professional staff. Oversight of the clinic is provided by a physician medical director and a clinical nurse practitioner.
Services Provided
Among the services provided at the Community Outreach Health Clinic are:
Non-emergent medical, dental care and pharmaceutical assistance
Client referral to appropriate community resources
Education and counseling to promote a preventative wellness lifestyle
The St. Joseph's Medical Clinic is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit free clinic whose mission is to support the health of uninsured, underinsured and low-income friends and neighbors who reside, work, or attend school in the Waukesha County community.
Patients may receive nurse visits, medical provider examinations, and treatment planning. Other diagnostic lab and x-rays tests, specialty care, and chronic care management are provided through our network of providers. Patients may also receive medications to support their health. Many prescriptions are supported by community grant programs. Each year, St. Joseph's assists patients and the Waukesha County community with questions and enrollment for health insurance including Healthcare.gov and the state Medicaid program, BadgerCare.
