1. Waukesha Plan Commission to review Carroll University business school plan (gmtoday.com) — Waukesha’s Plan Commission meets tonight to review Carroll University’s proposed three-story Sullivan School of Business, Engineering and Technology on Barstow Street, replacing an older classroom building. Commissioners will also consider a metal fabrication operation on Airport Road that could eventually employ up to 85 people. Both decisions could reshape local jobs, traffic, and campus life.
2. Nonprofit plans housing project for homeless families (finance-commerce.com) — A Waukesha nonprofit is planning a 10-unit apartment building at 600 Maple Ave. to give homeless families emergency and transitional housing steps from the public library. Family Promise of Waukesha County has launched an $8 million Building Hope campaign, aiming to demolish a former church, start construction in 2027, and open the supportive housing complex in 2028.
3. Waukesha West's Kufahl leads way at Morningstar (gmtoday.com) — Waukesha West’s boys golf team is headed back to sectional play after senior Mason Kufahl shot an even-par 72 to win individual honors at Morningstar. Waukesha North and Waukesha South golfers also advanced, while New Berlin Eisenhower grabbed the final team qualifying spot. All eyes now turn to next week’s sectional at Naga-Waukee.
4. 2026 Waukesha County Fair; new food vendors announced (fox6now.com) — Waukesha County residents can start planning their fair food strategy now, as the 184th Waukesha County Fair has announced its full vendor lineup for July 15–19, 2026. Alongside classic favorites like mini donuts and cream puffs, several new vendors will bring global comfort foods, barbecue, waffles, and Mexican fusion dishes to the fairgrounds.
5. Ridglan Farms beagles: Rescued dogs find homes, see their stories (fox6now.com) — Several Ridglan Farms beagles have found new homes across Wisconsin, including puppies adopted through HAWS – Waukesha and a young dog now living with a Waukesha family. Local adopters describe helping these former research dogs learn grass, sunshine, and family life for the first time. Their stories highlight both the trauma the animals endured and the community’s role in giving them safe, loving homes.
