Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease Jumps to Dairy Cattle as Wisconsin Deer Outbreak Tops 1,600 Cases (myvetcandy.com) β Waukesha County residents should know that a deer disease called epizootic hemorrhagic disease has now been confirmed in local dairy cattle and roughly 400 deer cases in the county. State officials stress it doesn't infect humans or make meat or milk unsafe, but farmers are urged to watch cattle for lesions and report suspicious signs promptly. Expect cases to ease after the first hard frost.

Montessori School of Waukesha completes building projects (jsonline.com) β Families connected to the Montessori School of Waukesha now have access to a new secure main entrance, expanded gym and stage, updated library spaces, and added upper elementary classrooms. Recent projects also created a middle school kitchen, extra storage, and new administrative offices, significantly upgrading the school's learning and activity spaces for Waukesha students.

DNR Job Listings (spmetrowire.com) β If you're looking for state work close to home, the DNR is hiring Real Estate Specialists with openings that specifically include Waukesha, alongside several other Wisconsin cities. These positions handle appraisals, negotiations, land and building sales, and support for local governments and nonprofits. Runner who died during half marathon identified as Waukesha man (gmtoday.com) β A 36-year-old Waukesha man, John Meise, died Sunday after collapsing during the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon's half marathon event and later being pronounced at Froedtert Hospital. The medical examiner has not yet determined a cause of death, and race organizers expressed condolences while emphasizing their medical and safety protocols for participants.
