Blair Elementary School To Host 128th And final Blair Flair
After more than 100 years, Blair will be consolidating with Hawthorne and Lowell Elementary. Organizers are holding one last blast.

WAUKESHA, WI —For years, students would have their picture taken next to the Blair School bell as a sign of the coming school year. The Waukesha community will be saying goodbye to that tradition as Blair Elementary School will be closing after the 2018-19 school year.
Blair will be consolidating with Hawthorne and Lowell Elementary. The students and staff of Blair Elementary School, 301 Hyde Park Ave., will host the 128th and final Blair Flair, May 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to celebrate Blair’s last year with activities, including carnival games, music, raffles, karaoke, food, a historical tour, and a bounce house.

Visitors will also be able to participate in a tradition that dates back to the 1800s - taking their
picture with the bell on the playground at Blair. This bell and the wall surrounding it were
constructed in 1889 as part of Blair’s original building, and have stayed standing today.
For years, students on their first day of school would pause to take a picture with the bell to
commemorate the day.
